Moviefone has debuted an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from this summer's Get Smart, starring Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway (is it me, or does she look GOOD in this flick?), Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Alan Arkin. Above, watch as Dwayne (Johnson? Rock?) takes us through the trials and tribulations of his character, Agent 23. As Carrell points out in the video above, "Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a formidable force. It's very emasculating to even be in a room with him because he sweats testosterone, whereas I sweat estrogen." Nice.

One of the most important pieces to the cinematic puzzle is something you cannot buy -- chemistry. It's either there, or it's not. When it is, the relationship sizzles off the screen. When it's not, the whole experience is just plain flat and boring. In honor of the former, those cinematic supercouples, Moviefone has pulled together a list of the Top 25 Sexiest Movie Couples, and they've definitely hit many different forms of coupling -- the sexy women, the sexy men, the men and women, the rich man and the hooker, and just about everything in between.
Aside from Pretty Woman, there's lots of other couples to choose from. The list starts with Catherine and Antonio in the Mask of Zorro -- for that scene we all remember with the sword and the disrobing. Of course, Moviefone lists Out of Sight, the movie that makes even naysayers praise J-Lo. There's also the classic Gone with the Wind, Stella groovin' with Taye Diggs and Angela Basset, Baby in the corner, and some super-sexy postman-ringing action.
Some placements and films will probably surprise you. I was surprised how close to #25 Naomi Watts and Laura Harring's tryst in Mulholland Drive was. But what do you think is missing? Personally, out of all the old-school couples on there, it's sad to see no Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. To me, they're THE couple. (Oh, that final scene from Guess Who's Coming to Dinner...) Sure, you've got Hoosiers, Hoop Dreams and (my personal favorite) White Man Can't Jump, but can you name the top 20 basketball flicks of all time? Not sure I can get past eight -- so major props go out to the folks at Moviefone for coming up with a list of the 20 best basketball films of all time, in honor of March Madness. Ah, the madness of it all; the teams, the brackets, the Cinderella stories. Where would we be in life without the Final Four?
Unfortunately, Air Bud and Eddie didn't make their list, but among the top 20 we have films like The Air Up There (oh, Kevin Bacon can do more than just dance), The Basketball Diaries (drugs and b-ball don't mix so well), He Got Game (he got Denzel, Jordan and Shaq), Space Jam (because we always desperately wanted Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan to pair up on the big screen) and the recent Semi-Pro (Will Ferrell's 85th sports-related film). Of course there's a whole lot more -- including films I bet you've never heard of -- so make sure to dribble on over to Moviefone and vote for your favorites. If you're old and boring like me, chances are you're not heading out to some paradise for Spring Break this year. It's cool, though, because Moviefone has got you covered. Well here we are. The Oscars are only a few hours away. I was up early this morning ironing the pajamas I'm going to wear tonight while I, along with Kim Voynar and Scott Weinberg, live blog the hell out of the Oscars ceremony. In case you don't know, Kim will be up first live blogging the red carpet at 6pm EST, then each of us will be up front and center for each hour of the broadcast. We always have a ton of fun doing this, so make sure you stop by and say hello.

What makes a film romantic? Is it the setting, the dialogue, the actors, the sex? And when your snuggling up next to your significant other this Valentine's Day, which films will you prefer to slide into the DVD player? Moviefone has assembled the definitive list -- the top 25 romance films of all time -- and now it's up to you to decide what they got right, what they got wrong and what they didn't get at all. Of course, Casablanca tops off the list at number one (is there a list in which Casablanca is not featured in the numero uno spot?), but following closely behind are Titanic (#2), Wuthering Heights (#3), An Affair to Remember (#4) and Gone with the Wind (#5). Obviously, when we're talking romance flicks, they don't make them like they used to.
When it comes to films made within the past few years, we don't find one until Brokeback Mountain shows up at number 12, followed by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind at number 15, and last year's Atonement at 18. Personally, I have a few issues with placement -- not so much with the films themselves -- like why Sleepless in Seattle is at 25 when it should've been higher. Films that didn't make the cut? Surprisingly, not many romantic comedies made the list. Even though they rely more on humor, some of us enjoy a little laughter with our cheesy romance. That being said, why not throw When Harry Met Sally a bone? Or even last year's Knocked Up? Not long ago, Katherine Heigl was at the center of controversy after she had some choice words for the film that helped kick-start her big-screen career in a BIG way. That film was Knocked Up. And we had some choice words for her. Now, however, the gal is back in 27 Dresses, co-starring one of my favorite New Yawkers, Eddie Burns, and you can watch the two interview one another as part of Moviefone's latest Unscripted installment. After watching the video, I have to say Heigl is definitely back in my good graces. To say she's just a tad -- hmmm -- risque in this piece is a bit of an understatement. Case in point: Watch the part when they talk about Heigl's Emmy Award and the many different ways she utilizes it. I'd like to think she was joking. If not, then ... umm, yeah. Watch it yourself.
Their conversation doesn't stray too far from the movie, weddings, funky bachelorette parties and whether Heigl was a better kisser than Burns' wife Christy Turlington, but there's a fun, personal vibe there that's worth a watch. And for some reason, I came away from the whole thing with an urge to hang out with Heigl's father. Strange, I know, but you'll have to watch it to see what I'm talking about. 27 Dresses arrives in theaters on January 18, and you can check out their Moviefone Unscripted chat right over here.
I wish I could say that Moviefone was picking the Eric Roberts action film Best of the Best for something -- maybe best film to wrap up the '80s? Isn't that movie great?! Roberts, Phillip Rhee, James Earl Jones, Chris Penn... Tae Kwon Do world finals. Okay, sorry. I had to reminisce for a second. Anyway, Moviefone has scoured through the Academy of Motion Pictures' picks for Best Picture over the years and have come up with a list of The Best of the Best, the Creme de la Creme. It's one thing to pick the good from the bad, but imagine trying to pick the best from the great -- not so easy!
I have to say, they did a pretty decent job -- this list of 25 makes me want to stop everything and have an epic movie marathon. There's old and new, scary and romantic -- you name it, it's there. The list starts with Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, chosen for being the first decent Western in a while (at the time). From there, you can check out Tom Cruise, a little George Cukor, a man who loves Chianti, one of cinema's classic leading Woody Allen ladies, an epic bridge in a military thriller, one infamous slap, a killer game of Russian Roulette, and even more! I might have said too much already, so just head over there and feast in some great cinema, and then weigh in on how your Best of the Best list would look.
We've already told you about Moviefone's excellent Unscripted video with director Tim Burton and his Sweeney Todd star Johnny Depp, but now Cinematical has an exclusive clip from their chat that was left on the cutting room floor. Here in the states, the day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday and it's supposed to officially kick off the holiday shopping season. Stores opened at the crack of dawn, while people camped out in front of places like Circuit City in order to save a few bucks on a big-screen TV. Sales were everywhere, the mall was a zoo and I came close to offing myself in front of Gap Kids on at least three separate occasions. It wasn't pretty. Because of the crowds, chaos and corruption, I usually like to do a lot of my shopping online. Myself? "'Blog' is the worst word of the 21st century," says Jerry Seinfeld during this latest installment in Moviefone's Unscripted series. And I tend to agree -- while I have no problem labeling myself as a movie blogger, the word "blog" is kind of disgusting, dirty in some ways, and not the prettiest of terms. For those not familiar with Unscripted, it's a fun little series where Moviefone sticks two celebs (who happen to be starring in the same upcoming film) together in a room, and film them asking questions to one another -- questions from you readers, as well as their own made-up-on-the-spot stuff. This latest round features Jerry Seinfeld and Renée Zellweger, stars of the new animated flick Bee Movie, which I happen to be seeing tomorrow night (and might I add that I've been looking forward to this one for awhile).
I happen to be a pretty big fan of Seinfeld (the TV show), as well as Seinfeld (the man). What can I say, I like the guy's honesty. When Zellweger asked him why he hadn't starred in anything since Seinfeld, the dude simply replied: "Because I'm old, rich and tired." The two talk a bit about the movie, about Seinfeld (someone asked Zellweger what character she would've liked to play on the show), and then they go on about a house Seinfeld rented while out in Los Angeles; a house that also happened to belong to Zellweger. If you submitted a question back when we first posted about this particular Unscripted, do swing by to see if they answered it. Say what you want about all those other so-called "months" throughout the year, October is known for one thing and one thing only -- Columbus Day! Yes! No, actually I'm talking about another holiday; one that doesn't get you a day off work or school, but does allow you to dress up like a freak and beg your neighbors for candy ... right after you've covered their car with toilet paper and eggs. Halloween. Forget about buying crappy presents for people, Halloween is all about celebrating what scares us -- and in honor of the pumpkin-picking, Cinderella-wearing love-fest, Moviefone is counting down the 31 Best Horror Movies of All Time. But they're not just giving you a list and calling it a month; nope, they're releasing one film per day throughout October, while providing clues for the movies they haven't uncovered yet. Think you know your horror? Yeah, so did I, until I scrolled through a list of 30 clues that truly test your scary movie knowledge.
Here's a few examples: Number 28: "This modern classic borrowed its poster art from a Salvador Dali photograph." Or how about Number 25: "This British horror flick's female lead refused to appear naked from the waist down, but she was furious to learn that footage of a (pregnant) body double's backside was used in a nude dancing scene." Ooohh, and then there's Number 22: "Molly Ringwald was originally approached to play this flick's teenaged heroine, but turned down the role because she was 27 at the time." The 31st film has already been uncovered (The Ring), and now it's up to you to sift through the clues and piece together the rest of their list. It's not every day that one gets to see a film that's charming, sweet, intelligent and also happens to be written by an erstwhile stripper/phone sex operator (who, incidentally, owns a cat named Douchepacker). I had that pleasure at the Toronto Film Festival, however, when I took in Juno, penned with surprising astuteness by first-time screenwriter Diablo Cody (the aforementioned former stripper), directed by Jason Reitman (Thank You for Smoking), and starring Ellen Page (Hard Candy), Michael Cera (Superbad), Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner.
In the film, 16-year-old Juno MacGuff (Page) discovers that she's all knocked up after just one foray into sex with her best bud Paulie Bleeker (Cera), a sweet but clueless orange-Tic-Tac-addicted track star who seems perfectly content to let Juno have an abortion. She doesn't. Instead, she decides to keep the child and let a "perfect" young yuppie couple (Bateman and Garner), who can't have kids of their own, adopt her baby-to-be. The result is a hilarious, endearing and moving picture that explores family and friendship, loyalty and loss, and what it truly means to love someone, all while expertly avoiding turning into a gooey, steaming pile of melodrama.
I sat down with Jason Bateman and Ellen Page to talk about the film, and -- while the full interview won't be posted until the December release date nears -- I thought I'd give you a small yet delicious (some might say orange-Tic-Tac-like) taste of what I learned ...
It takes cojones to make an R-rated movie these days, when the proven money-makers are PG and PG-13 movies that can attract a wider audience and thus rake in the big bucks. Still, there is a great tradition of hard-R classics in Hollywood, dating back to the likes of Kentucky Fried Movie, Animal House and Vacation in the late '70s and early '80s, and continuing down through the ages. But while these flicks continued to be produced, they rarely took off at the box office. All that is changing now, thanks to the one-two money-making punch of Wedding Crashers and The 40-Year-Old Virgin in the summer of 2005. This summer has already seen one hard-R smash-hit in Knocked Up and will hopefully see another one in Superbad.
