3. that "horrible rock crap" is the Used. Not sure why they used it, but I'm rather fond of the original song. And it's pretty rare that the songs in the teaser trailers like this make it to the final soundtrack, so I doubt you'd hear it past this trailer (I'd be surprised, anyway).

7. I really wish they went with a director that had a clue about STORY. From this it looks like another flashy action flick/video game tie in. The original is such a classic. Really hope this doesn't suck.

9. Over the last few years I've developed a philosophy that, when applied to movies like this, makes then impressively enjoyable: Expect absolutely nothing but eye candy. This way if there is actually something resembling a plot then it's a pleasant surprise rather than a disappointment when you notice its absence.

14. Bad CGI, bad music, it just looks like the mummy... A shame because mythology could look really strong, like let's say lord of the rings. Just a good pop corn & coke movie for the summer I guess.

15. I'm not sure why you think fans of the original movie (which wasn't that good, at least when compared to a true classic like Jason and the Argonauts) would care if the VFX this time were CGI instead of stop motion.

As for the trailer...meh. All I see is boring "300"-style generic action shots. Snore. I would personally love to see those old Jason/Sinbad-style epics redone, but if all they're going to spend their money on is the effects -- for example, this dull trailer -- then why bother?

Eventually someone in Hollywood is going to remember that great stories make great movies. Eye-candy effects can't make a bad movie good. Never have, never will.

17. Interesting to see how people are reacting to this trailer. It's hard for me to see how this version treats the story since it's not telling me much more than "action!!!" I guess others are reading this as "there is no story; if you like story, don't buy a ticket!" I agree with the poster who commented that of the movies that Harryhausen worked on, Clash was hardly the best. Personally, I didn't care for the casting of Hamlin and the sillier aspects of the script & concept (wasn't there a ridiculous clockwork owl or something like that? It's been quite a while). I'll say one thing for this project and it's that the casting seems more solid to me than for either Troy or Alexander (what were they thinking?). Another thing is that this is mythology rather than history, so I'm willing to cut the project a little more slack (even than the ever-so-fictionalized and stylized 300). Plus it's nice to see some sword & sandals coming out again, even at a trickle (did it start with Gladiator?). So, even though this trailer didn't tell me as much about the movie as I might like, I'll probably see it, hoping that the fun will outweigh the stupidity. I'm hoping that it will be less stupid than the original Clash (I love Harryhausen, but I mean, really, that movie makes you pay for the good bits, you must admit).

18. I agree that the tagline (Titans. Will. Clash. Really?) is d.u.m.b. But the movie looks good. I liked the Incredibile Hulk and Unleashed and I don't blame Transporter 2 on him (the first was good though), so I'm interested. He does good action and has been able to focus on story appropriately for the genre he's working in (unlike Ang Lee's Hulk, for example).

And, while I like the original Clash of the Titans, it was a bit cheesy at times. It's not like he's remaking Lawrence of Arabia...

20. @ Thanos. Umm, yeah, I know what it's based on. I was alive when the original came out in 81. Albeit I was only 5, but I still remember seeing it. I was referring to how the cinematography looks like the ripped it off from 300/Gladiator, and it's the same style. It'll probably have the same slowmo scenes depicting deaths and arrow shots and all that crap as well. For the record, I really enjoyed both those movies, but was not impressed to see it regurgitated into a remake of a classic.

I really love how you flew off the handle over such a benign post, it really shows that the anonymity of the internet somehow makes people feel 'empowered'. Either that, or your from the east coast where everyone is eternally pissed off for no reason at all.
