I would do the same if I lived in the US. I will probably be seeing TDK more than once anyways, as I did with Batman Begins, who says I can't see it in the theater and the IMAX?

5. You traded your first experience with The Dark Knight (a whole movie) on a massive screen (which some critics are saying is THE way to see the film) for what will probably be a minute-long teaser for Watchmen, which will be available online shortly thereafter? Hmm.... Can't say I'm with you.

When Watchmen comes out in IMAX, will you then choose to see it in a normal theater just so you can see a trailer for the next big movie? It doesn't really make sense to me....

6. To be honest, it was a collection of things, but Watchmen topped the list -- I want to see it on a big screen, not a tiny trailer. But the fact that IMAX midnight screenings mean that even getting to the theater an hour early (in my 'hood) will get you less-than-perfect seats (sometimes even crappy ones) was even more of a reason. I'd rather have a big DK screen and Watchmen then wait hours or see IMAX in a seat I don't like.

9. I'm gonna see The Dark Knight in IMAX first, because the whole reason I'm going to the theater in the first place is to see TDK, and I want to see it in the best form possible. When I see it a second time(because you HAVE to see it at least twice for a movie like TDK), I'll see it in a normal theater(actually I think I'll be seeing it in a drive-in with some friends), and then have the bonus of seeing the trailer.

10. Are you KIDDING ME?! Dark Knight was MEANT to be seen in IMAX! Remember the 6-minute prologue in front of I Am Legend? That was shot in IMAX, and I shudder to think of watching that in a plain ol' movie theatre.

So this is my plan: watch Dark Knight in IMAX. Then, just before leaving the theatre, I'll slip into a showing of Dark Knight in another theatre and watch the Watchmen trailer (ha ha, *I* watch the Watchmen!).

Ah, the best of both worlds.

12. I saw the trailer last night, it went down like this (sorry about the horrible description, I have the memory of a bee).

So, I reviewed the DK movie at an IMAX theater in Louisville, KY last night and had the pleasure of seeing The Watchmen trailer on the big screen. Please pardon me on the identification of situations as it has been years since I've read the comic.

The trailer starts off with Doctor Manhattan in the atomic chamber room trying to prep for what appears to be his last struggle in life. He's taking off his watch, the heat begins to rise and then he explodes/evaporates. The trailer cuts to various introduction scenes of the superheroes where you get a shot of Nite Owl, then the Comedian (in the fields of Vietnam smiling and killing people) and just a very quick paced view of Rorschach throwing an explosive into a window where a crowd is forming, exploding everyone. Basically, just a montage of all the superheroes, not much detail to go on, again just visuals.

I would specifically like to point out the accurate job that they did on Doctor Manhattan. If you're a fan of the comic, one of the few memories you might have (like myself) is the formation of him after he dies in the chamber. His spinal cord shows up in one scene in the trailer, scares the beejebus out of a janitor and they show him fully formed in the cafeteria, blowing all the people away (just kind of pushing them out of his range). You also have a ginormous shot of him in Vietnam taking down the enemies, please reference the gigantic drawing of him in the graphic novel for details. They got him down perfectly and he doesn't look completely animated, it's half/half (actor/animation), it's done really damn well. You'll probably see tomorrow.

It was a great start to Dark Knight and a movie that I'm truly excited about seeing when it comes out. Sorry the details are fuzzy, I didn't have time to write them down, my memory is shite.
