1. I think he would be good for the project. He did a fine job in my opinion as director for live free of die hard.

2. With Len's background working in art departments for movies like Men in Black, I think we can get a really stylized movie that could treat the game (at least visually) very well.

4. live free or die hard was a good movie.

But metal gear deserves its own movie. even though MG4 already feels like a movie if any game deserves to be made into a movie its metal gear. and if anyone hasnt played it go play it I promise u its worth it. I have never been into the series and this is the first time i purchased one of the games and its a beautiful story. It takes some time getting into probably after the first level or 2 but after that ur in the thick of things. and loving it

5. I think that they couldnt have picked anyone else better to work on the Gears of War movie. With his backround with Underworld and Live Free or Die Hard, he has already shown he knows how to make a good movie. Now all they have to do is nail the story and Marcus then we will be set.

6. Live Free wasn't bad, at least it's someone capable.
Gears may not have much of a story, but it has a great atmosphere. So if you throw in a story like Saving Private Ryan it could come out a pretty good war/scifi flick.

7. Wiseman's proved himself a competent (not good but definately not bad) director, working with a big budget and high-profile actors in the past. he's no Spielberg but he's leagues above schmuck's like Ratner, McG and Paul W. Anderson who couldn't direct themselves out of a cardboard box, regardless of what you gave them to work with. So it is a step in the right direction.

however, for Gears to even stand a chance it's needs one hell of a script, a very healthy budget (no less than 125mil), a good supporting cast, at least one high-profile actors, a solid "R" rating and ZERO interference from the studio (which Wiseman got plenty of for DH4).

if the studio fails in any or all of these aspects, it'll just end up being another "Doom" quickly winding up in a $5 DVD bargain bin. it all depends on what New Line wants from Gears. Do they believe in it or are they looking for a quick, cheap cash-in?

8. It'll be fine as long as they keep the basis of the game. Doom failed because they camped it out. The game DOOM 3 is an experience in fear, not a story about horny or religious Marines.

Also, you run around BY YOURSELF.


Gears of War needs to be Navy Seals on crack. WI th better weapons and body armor.

9. Live Free or Die Hard was a terrible movie. Terrible. People took insane beatings without any injury. Cars flew through the air. Harriers pilots performed extremely questionable maneuvers. Nothing regarding the tecnology made a bit of sense.

Terrible.

But decently directed terrible, I suppose.
The Underworlds, too. They could have been far worse. The directing and cinematography saved them.

Give Len Wiseman a good script and I think he can give you a good movie.
But Live Fre or Die Hard had one of the dumbest scripts I've seen in a long while. It was pure trash, but competently made pure trash.
