'The Dark Knight' Takes Best Trailer of the Year
After a long, hard-fought battle, the second official trailer for The Dark Knight took home top honors at this year's Golden Trailer Awards (with a margin of victory of 44%). The contest, held over at USA Today, tallied votes on films from several different categories -- all of which were chosen as this year's Golden Trailer winners earlier in the month. Among the top trailers users had a chance to vote on were Enchanted (Best Animation/Family), Tropic Thunder (Best Comedy), Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? (Best Documentary), No Country for Old Men (Best Drama), I am Legend (Best Horror) and Iron Man (Summer 2008 Blockbuster), among others. While there are certainly other trailers I would've picked to win their respective category (Pineapple Express, for one), I think we can probably all agree that The Dark Knight trailer is definitely tops.
Check out the trailer one more time above, then head on over to USA Today to see what else was nominated (as well as the official site for The Golden Trailer Awards). In your opinion, does anything beat The Dark Knight?

(Page 1)2. I had no interest in seeing either Iron Man or Batman before seeing the trailers-Iron Man's trailer definitely pushed me towards seeing it (glad I did, too). Batman? The trailer didn't make me any more inclined to see it.

3. It´s a classy trailer, makes you really want to see what else is in stored. I like the seriousness of the characters. Iron Man abuses the joke cracking and the "look at how cool my life is" Bruce Wayne is totally devoted to being a hero, his high style life outside is just a front, he is all Batman and this trailer transmits that feeling very well. Not to mention a much cooler bad guy than Iron Man, by the way.

4. I've lost some interest over the last trailer to have come out. Especially because of that skank of a woman they placed as filthy rich Bruce Wayne's love interest. Come on! Didn't know he was blind as a bat too! Kills the realism for me.

5. This trailer was definitely much better than the most recent trailer.
What I like most about this new Batman franchise is that they have put some fantastic dialogue that seems almost tailored for a movie trailer.
For example, take Joker's diatribe at the beginning of this trailer. "You've changed things."
Or in the very first teaser trailer, where its a conversation between Bruce and Alfred, "They've crossed the line." Bruce says, only for Alfred to retort "You crossed the line first, sir. You hammered them, and in their desperation they turned to a man they didn't fully understand."
I just like how they explain about the big picture without making it too obvious.

6. Agreed Jay,
This first trailer was great. Rewatched it too many times. However, the last trailer that came out was the one that toned down the excitement for me. Plus the fact that I saw more of Katie's replacement, who even though she's a better actress, I find it hard to view her as Batman's love interest.

7. The character of Bruce Wayne could have it all but he chooses not to, he is in search for self and the character of Rachel is one of the few things that remain from his childhood. It makes sense, why would all men be attracted to a hot chick all the time? It's over rated.
Guess the first trailer was made for us, the super movie fans and the second appealed to a wider audience that might be reticent to a super dark movie from beginning to end.

1. You want to know a great reason why it is so good? It doesn't give away the whole movie! It's seems like a simple thing to do but hardly any trailer does that these days.
