'The Love Guru' Trailer!
Can I just say how nice it is to have Mike Myers back on the big screen in, ya know, human form. The first trailer for The Love Guru has just arrived online over at Moviefone. Here, Myers takes on his first original character since Austin Powers for a comedy about an American who was left at the gates of ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He then moves back to the U.S. to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality. There, he's asked to settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (the excellent Romany Malco) and his estranged wife. That's not all, though, because this one also features Jessica Alba, Vern "Mini Me" Troyer and Justin Timberlake (in an afro!). Check out the trailer above, or head on over to Moviefone to see it in glorious HD.

How is he coming to American if he is going to Toronto to help a player for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Last time I checked my city was a part of Canada, not the states.

As in North America maybe? If it's just 'coming to America' he could be going to bolivia or something even.

I love Mike Myers, but this character seems like every other character he's done. The only thing funny about the trailer was Justin Timberlake.

Would it make me a heartless, emotionless monster, if I confess that I couldn't have a single, small laughter while watching this trailer?

Sadly enough (I never thought I would say this) but this seems to almost a ripoff of "The Guru" minus the inclusion of dwarfs or a pop icon in a fro wig...

Hahahaha - like anything would make the Leafs win.
That's right. I said it.
And JT as a Quebecer. hahahahahah.
This might be a movie only Canadians find funny. If so - HAH.

This is supposed to be a comedy, right? 'Cause that trailer didn't make me laugh once. Although it is pretty funny to imagine the Maple Leafs winning the Cup anytime soon.

this looks like the worst thing to ever happen to film....ever. if you could somehow harness the awfulness of this preview into some sort of weapon...my god...the power you could wield.
what i'm saying is that this looks terrible.

I'd have to agree, I didn't laugh at all during this trailer. Same tired gags that didn't work in the Austin Powers series. Especially that Freudian slip joke (shrimp = mole).
Though, I will admit, the inclusion of John Oliver and Daniel Tosh intrigues me, even if they are bit players.

Sigh, I really wanted to like it but I didn't. I thought it could be hilarious because my dad was into the hari-krishnas back in the day and I always thought hari-krishnas in generally were pretty hilarious and funky (white people into indian spirituality... loler the lady my dad talked to was "krishna-prema")... but unfortunately I didn't laugh either. Boo. It doesn't look terrible, but it wasn't enjoyable either. Noooo! I may see it anyway though.
